A three part 2015 BBC miniseries which sees art critic Alistair Sooke explore the unique legacy of Greek art, travelling through Greece to visit various historic sites and explaining how Greek art and architecture evolved. We have all three episodes available to watch here on Documentary Vine, details of each episode are provided below.
In the first episode Sooke explores the roots of Greek art, beginning his journey on the island of Crete and then on to Santorini.
The second episode examines the reasons behind the revolution which gave birth to classical Greek art, he travels to the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and then onto the island of Mozia.
The third and final episode sees Sooke explore the legacy of classical Greek art, travelling through Italy, Germany, France and Britain to see art which was clearly directly influenced by the Greeks.
