Trawlermen (Series 3)

Trawlermen is a BBC television series which follows the work of a number of trawler boats based in Peterhead and Fraserburgh, two small fishing towns in Scotland.  Initially one season of five half an hour episodes was aired before three additional seasons were commissioned. The series is often still repeated on cable channels such as Blighty, Watch and Dave. Some of the narration is done by the actor Peter Capaldi who was later to find global fame when he landed the role of Dr Who.

The third season broadcast in 2008 and consists of five half an hour episodes, all of which we have available to watch on Documentary Vine. In 2011 one of the stars of the show, Jimmy Buchan the skipper of the Amity II, published his memoir: Trawlerman: Life at the Helm of the Toughest Job in Britain, available to purchase in paperback or kindle formats.
