Charles Bronson has long been one of the most notorious prisoners in the United Kingdom, and often dubbed by the press as Britain’s most dangerous prisoner. As well as numerous mainstream prisons he has also been incarcerated in three different high security psychiatric hospitals. He was famously portrayed by Tom Hardy in the 2008 movie Bronson which got rave reviews.

Bronson was initially sentenced to serve seven years in prison in 1974 for committing an armed robbery, when he was just 19, but has since had years added to his sentence on numerous occassions for various incidents including assaulting prison staff and fellow inmates.

The Real Bronson is a 2010 dramatized documentary which tells the life story of the real Charles Bronson, as told by Bronson himself and those who know him including his brother Marl.

Charles Bronson has had numerous books published, but the only truly self-penned one is the 2008 autobiography Loonyology: In My Own Words, available to purchase in paperback, hardback, or on kindle.
