Salmon Confidential is a 2012 film which lifts the lid on a cover up by the government of Canada who the film makers assert are not being honest about the reasons why so many wild salmon are dying in British Columbia, marine biologist Alexandra Morton discovers that the wild salmon in British Columbia are testing positive for dangerous European salmon viruses which have spread to Canada due to the growth in salmon farming.

The film, by film maker Twyla Roscovich, asserts that the Canadian government are seeking to suppress the findings of their own studies in order to protect the salmon farming industry.

The film follows Morton as she attempts to track the viruses, finding them present in Sushi stores, grocery stores, and in the rivers of Vancouver. Whilst investigating she has to navigate past various roadblocks being erected by authorities who want to hinder or halt her investigation into the issue.
