Ross Kemp Return to Afghanistan

Published on 14th August 2017 by

In 2007 Ross Kemp followed 1st Battalion (1 R ANGLIAN, “The Vikings”) of the Royal Anglian Regiment as they carried out active service in Afghanistan and his series Ross Kemp in Afghanistan was shown on Sky 1 in 2008. Kemp made the series because he wanted to give a voice to the soldiers and due to a personal affinity that he had with the Royal Anglian Regiment.

This second series, Ross Kemp: Return to Afghanistan, was broadcast in 2009 after Kemp had spent time following the 2008 deployment of Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (5 SCOTS), the 5th battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Kemp visited the unit as they undertook training for the assignment domestically and then visited them during their six month tour, filming both during periods of rest and periods of patrols and combat.

We have all five episodes of this series available to watch here on Documentary Vine, navigate them via the numbered tabs beneath the video player or by using the episode link list below.
