RE:Brand was a humorous documentary series written and hosted by British comedian Russell Brand and his long time writing partner Matt Morgan, the series aimed to challenge various cultural taboos. The series was commissioned by and broadcast by the digital satellite channel UK Play (now defunct). Russell Brand would later confess to being in the grips of a serious heroin addiction at the time of making this series, and claimed that he spent most of the budget on drugs and alcohol.
In Wanky Wank Brand explores London gay culture with the help of a gay friend in Soho, and he ultimately challenges his own heterosexuality by volunteering to masturbate a gay man in a pub toilet. He was reluctant to go through with the act, and was obviously uncomfortable before, during, and after carrying it out.
