By the time he had passed away at the age of 91 in 1973, Picasso had become one of the worlds most prolific and influential artists. He was one of the few artists that managed to die rich, most establish their legacy posthumously. He was actually a contentious character and he was many different things to different people, some accounts paint a picture of him being an almost sociopathic egomaniac and serial womanizer.

Picasso: Love, Sex and Art is a 2015 BBC documentary which tells the chronological story of the women who influenced his art throughout his life, the subjects which he painted to almost total abstraction. Some of the women in his life were damaged forever by their experiences whilst in a relationship with this complex genius.
