Millions: A Lottery Story is a 2006 feature length documentary by filmmaker Paul La Blanc which chronicles the lives of six different big money lottery winners from various different places across America. The film attempts to show how drastically and rapidly your life can change when you become instantly wealthy, and it doesn’t always change for the better.
It is ultimately a story of identity crisis, fortune, loss, and ultimately redemption. Winning the lottery can be a blessing, it can be a curse, or it can be a little bit of both. The film manages to gain a real insight into the personalities and lives of the six individuals in question, managing to avoid becoming an extended episode of MTV cribs in the process.
