Mad Dog and Nazi Nick

A 2007 Channel 5 Donal McIntyre documentary which charts the unusual friendship between Jonny ‘Mad Dog’ Adair, an exiled former Loyalist paramilitary leader, and Nick ‘Nazi Nick’ Gregor a former leading German Neo-nazi who claims to have changed his ways and denounced many of his previous white supremacist views.

Gregor and a group of his associates consider Adair to be their idol and appointed him the head of the group in Germany. The film follows the pair to the West coast of Africa, which they are visiting under the pretense of wanting to build an orphanage in Adair’s name but is really a cover to a scheme to profit from illicit blood diamonds. It makes for an interesting insight into the murky underworld which both exist in.

Johnny Adair published his autobiography, Mad Dog, in 2009. In the book he writes about his life as the leader of the UFF and his time in exile after he was forced to flee Northern Ireland. The book is available to read in paperback, hardback, and kindle editions.
