Twilight of the Porn Stars

In the 1990s, journalist and filmmaker Louis Theroux visited San Fernando Valley in California to interview the stars of the thriving pornography industry. Nearly fifteen years later, he returned to find that the industry had been decimated by the rise of online porn and streaming sites that cut out the studios and the porn stars alike.

Twilight of the Porn Stars follows Theroux as he speaks to some of the same performers he interviewed at the end of the last century. He explores the reasons behind the decline of the industry, as well as the psychological impact that the shift has had for some of its fading stars.

In Twilight of the Porn Stars, Theroux also interviews some of the new wave of adult performers. The documentary lets the younger generation express their concerns, experiences, and struggle to survive in a rapidly-changing industry.
