A three part BBC documentary examining the life of the Muhammad, the Islamic prophet, and the origins of Islam. It was broadcast in 2011 and it was the first time a British television network had shown a documentary about Muhammad and the first detailed account of his life to be screened on any Western network. The series did get some criticism, including from a prominent Iranian government minister who questioned the motives of the BBC deciding to commission a documentary on this subject.
It charts his early life, the events which shaped his outlook, and then the introduction of the Sharia moral code and the concept of Jihad. Each episode is available to watch here on DocumentaryVine.com (see the 1, 2, 3 tabs below the video for each episode, or via the episode list below).
