Inside a Trader’s Brain is a 2015 CNBC documentary which tells us how neuroscientists have begun to scrutinize the brains of Wall Street traders to try and understand what makes a successful trader, what makes an unsuccessful one, and to try and better understand what makes some traders go rogue. Among the factors analysed are the way in which traders brains manage stress and how stress impacts their decision making.

The documentary is the result of a study which found that traders are governed by unconscious psychological and biological processes which can have disastrous consequences to the global economy, and discusses how these human behaviors helped to contribute to the last global financial crisis. The study compared the character traits of high earning traders and low earning traders.
