A 2008 National Geographic documentary special in which a team of experts look into the historic symptoms of the Tudor king Henry VIII, combining history, science, and medicine to work out what physical problems Henry VIII may have suffered from.
The questions up for grabs are: Did Henry have diabetes? How about syphilis? A hormonal disorder? What effect did those jousting injuries have? Why couldn’t his wives conceive or stay pregnant? Why was he so fat? Why was he so angry? And they explore what evidence we may be able to gather from the history books to help answer some of those questions. Amongst the experts to feature are the popular British historian and presenter Lucy Worsley, who has fronted numerous BBC documentary series.
