Hunting Hitler (Season 3)

Published on 11th January 2018 by

Hunting Hitler is a History Channel television series based on the popular conspiracy theory that Adolf Hitler escaped from his bunker in Berlin at the end of World War II and escaped, possibly to South America where many other Nazi’s fled. The FBI declassified documents from 1947 which showed that the organization was concerned about the lack of a body after Hitler’s reported death. There was some criticism after the broadcast of the first season in 2015 that the series was feeding America’s unhealthy obsession with both Hitler and conspiracy theories.

The first series proved popular and it returned for a second season beginning in 2016 (see: Hunting Hitler: Season 2), and this third season was aired in 2018. We have all eight episodes of the third season available to watch here on Documentary Vine, navigate them via the numbered tabs beneath the video player or by using the episode list below.

Totally agree the the above comment. And for a so call special forces operator not to know of one of the greatest special forces raids of WWII “1943: The Heroes of Telemark”???? Credibility out the window when the investigators “discovered” the production of heavy water at the hydro plant. It is common knowledge that heavy water was in production at the hydro plant since 1934. Google it!!!!!

Season 3, Episode 3 of Hunting Hitler, Nazi Nuclear Weapons, may have discredited the entire premise of the show. The show revolves around highly credible intelligence officers who use a computerized cache of recently declassified documents to identify clues to Hitler’s possible escape after WWII. In Episode 3 the show sends investigators to Norway who stumble upon the ruins of a heavy water plant essential to the Nazi effort to develop nuclear weapons during and possibly after WWII. The Allies scrutinized the heavy water plant operations prior to, during and after WWII. The show’s investigator decides to scale a steep ravine and attempts to enter the basement of the destroyed heavy water plant to see if there is a hidden stockpile of heavy water. The investigator determines the basement is empty. If the investigator would have simply googled Norway heavy water, he would have known that the heavy water plant was empty and the Germans removed the equipment during WWII and also attempted to ship the heavy water stocks to Germany. The Norwegian resistance sunk the ferry Hydro loaded with the heavy water. It would have been more interesting if the show followed up on a 2005 NOVA show that surfaced questions regarding the quantity of heavy water actually on the ferry Hydro when it sunk. FYI there are tons of historical information on the Nazi heavy water efforts in Norway during WWII.
