Earth Under Water

A 50 minute BBC documentary which looks at the possibility of another ‘great flood’ being caused by fast rising sea levels, the film asserts that it is inevitable if CO2 emissions continue to rise at the current level. The documentary is based on research by NASA astro-biologist Professor Peter Ward and a team of American climatologists.

The film uses scientific evidence, archive footage and CGI to hypothesize what could happen if CO2 emissions were to treble over the next 100 to 300 years, painting a chilling picture of what could happen to earth as sea levels rise meter by meter. The film also includes contributions from scientists and politicians who discuss what steps could possibly be taken now to limit the effects of rising CO2 and how extreme engineering techniques could be used to buy the human race some time.
