Billion Dollar Day

Published on 26th February 2016 by

A 1985 BBC documentary about currency trading (Forex) which focuses on three different currency traders, one in New York, one in London, and one in Hong Kong. The three traders are followed throughout a typical day to show how the system works and showcase the determination and dedication of the traders. The filming takes place over a 24 hour period, showing how the markets work across the world despite the time zone differences.

More than one billion dollars in currency (pounds, dollars and marks) is exchanged by the three traders in the 24 hours of filming (that’s about $2.3 billion in today’s money). This landmark documentary was probably the first to give the British public an insight into this secretive world. See more Trading documentaries here.
