An American Undercover episode from 1990 which sees the filmmakers head to the Madison Hotel in the infamous skid row area of Downtown Los Angeles to talk to some of the desperate people who find themselves living there, the botel charged just $8.20 per night for a room. Notably, the narration to this film is provided by the great poet and novelist Charles Bukowski.

People to feature in the film include an alcoholic named Jack Woodrow Wilson, a nomadic drug dealer named John, and a prostitute and heroin addict named Becky. Like many old documentaries this one went forgotten about for years until resurfacing one day on the internet and gaining a new audience (it looks as if it may have first found its way on to YouTube in early 2011).
