A 2004 three part television documentary series written and presented by Jonathan Miller, commissioned by the BBC. Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief explores the history of atheism. It was also screened in the USA on PBS under the alternative name A Brief History of Disbelief. It includes contributions from numerous prominent academics. Three hour long episodes can all be watched here on Documentary Vine (see the tabs below the video embed, or the episode links below).
When producing the documentary Miller had so much leftover material that he was able to produce a second six episode series, The Atheism Tapes, which each consists of extended interviews with one contributor from the original series (Colin McGinn, Steven Weinberg, Arthur Miller, Richard Dawkins, Denys Turner, Daniel Dennett).
