The Wonder of Dogs is a three part 2013 BBC series in which a team of canine experts reveal some secret from the history of man’s best friend, the differences between various dog breeds and examine the genetic history of the dogs from a specific English village. Amongst the areas explored are the special relationship between humans and dogs, the reasons behind why different breeds have such differing senses and abilities, and quirky facts like the history behind the poodles favourite haircut.

We have all three episodes of this series available to watch here on Documentary Vine (navigate them via the numbered tabs beneath the video player). If you are interested in the earliest history of the dog then check out the feature length National Geographic documentary And Man Created Dog (2010).
