The Sunspot Mystery

356

A 1977 documentary written and directed by Ben Shedd and Graham Shedd and broadcast on the BBC which presented then-current research on the sun’s aurora and other characteristics, and how historical records show how the sun changes to affect the earth’s weather. The program showed how the sun is not static but instead cycles and affects the earths climate and the status of the ozone layer.

It is believed that there was a period of around 70 years when there were little or no ‘sunspots’, and that this could have brought on the Ice Age.  The version uploaded here on DocumentaryVine.com is the syndicated version which has American narration and was sold by the BBC to cable channels around the world, not the BBC version (which is nowhere to be found online).
