A 2015 BBC documentary which looks as Sir Alex Ferguson’s success as a manager from a business perspective, after Ferguson was invited to speak on leadership at Harvard Business School. He was subsequently invited to take a permanent position at Harvard as a result of one of their professors studying Ferguson and identifying him as an example of great leadership. Its a film which takes a unique angle, acknowledging the part that Ferguson played in turning Manchester United into a lucrative global brand.
The film includes contributions from former players including Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as academics justifying the use of Ferguson as a business case study, and Sir Alan Sugar the tech billionaire and former owner of Tottenham Hotspur. It includes footage from one of his lectures at Harvard.
Sir Alex Ferguson co-authored a book about leadership with Sir Michael Moritz, the Welsh born billionaire venture capitalist. Leading: Learning from Life and My Years at Manchester United was published in 2016 and is available in paperback, hardcover, on kindle, or in audiobook format.
