The Mona Lisa is one of the most famous works of art on the planet, for many the Di Vinci masterpiece is the ultimate work of art and for millions it is the highlight of their visit to the Louvre Museum in Paris where it has been on permanent display since 1797. The subject remains a mystery, who is she, what is her story, and why did Di Vinci want to paint her?

The Secrets of Mona Lisa is a 2015 BBC documentary which reveals some secrets about the painting, the result of extensive research into 500 year old documents and start of the art forensic research techniques. It is the first extensive forensic investigation to ever have been conducted on the painting and it revealed some highly interesting new revelations about the painting and the subject.
