A half an hour BBC Wales ‘Week In, Week Out’ episode from 2015 about Jon Styler, a highly respected headteacher in the Welsh town of Newport. He killed himself in 2007 after police launched an investigation into alleged historic sex offences against one boy.
After his death numerous other victims from Wales and England came forward to report that they were also victims of his abuse. This episode explores whether he could have been apprehended years earlier had the police and local education authorities done things differently, and an inquiry was launched into claims that the police failed to link two separate allegations made in 2005 and 2007. Police now believe that he may have abused more than 100 boys over 25 years, which would make him one of the worst paedophiles in UK history.
