A few weeks prior to the 2016 Presidential Election the Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Michael Moore visited Newark, Ohio with the attention to perform a one-man pro-Hillary show. The city was very pro-Trump and the shows billing proved controversial, the planned venue ultimately terminated the rental agreement.
An alternative venue was found in Wilmington, Ohio, and Moore performed over two nights. This 73 minute long documentary is based on recordings of those performances and was edited in just a few days, its premiere in New York on October 18th 2016 fell just 11 days after it was shot and all 400 tickets to the showing were given away for free. Subsequent reviews of the film were not flattering in either the pro-Trump or pro-Hillary media, perhaps to be expected considering the turnaround time.
