Louis Theroux chronicles the struggles of actors trying to ‘make it’ in off-Broadway theatre in New York, in order to examine the industry he visits a talent grooming agency, a photo shoot session, an acting class, casting sessions and a voice coaching session. It shows the huge amount of work that aspiring actors and actresses go through in an attempt to hit the big time, most will fail.
