Louis Theroux spends time following around then Tory MP Anne Widdecombe in a 2002 episode of his When Louis Met… series. During the filming Theroux upsets Widdecombe when he asks her details about her sex life, Widdecombe was suspected of being a middle aged virgin as she had never been married and is highly religious. Filming took place over a three month period.
At the end of the second When Louis Met... series, for which Theroux also followed her former parliamentary colleague Neil Hamilton, a programme was filmed in which the subjects turned the tables and talked about what it was like having to spend time with Theroux (See: Living with Louis). Widdecombe did not participate in the filming of that programme, prompting some speculation that she was unhappy with the final edit of her episode.
