One hour long ABC News documentary from 2014, chief medical director Richard Besser explores the history of the disease and the implications of the latest outbreak, travelling to the then hotspot of the disease where thousands of Africans were dying and doctors from Africa and overseas were risking their lives to help.

He visits several hospitals in Liberia, without any protective equipment, and talks with hospital doctors and members of their burials team to talk about the impact of the disease and their desperate attempts to contain it.  Also worth a watch from 2014 is the BBC Horizon documentary Ebola: The Search for a Cure, about the doctors fighting the disease on the front line as well as the scientists who were working around the clock to try and find a cure or vaccination.
