A channel 4 documentary by Leo Regan which originally aired in 2001, it tells the story of Lanre Fehintola a photojournalist who found himself hooked on heroin after working on a photo book depicting drug addicts five years earlier. The documentary follows Fehintola’s desperate attempt to kick his heroin addicted by going cold turkey.
It is a follow up to a previous documentary by Regan about Fehintola, Don’t Get High on Your Own Supply (1998) charts Fehintola’s decline into addiction after his immersive style of journalism went too far and he made the fateful decision to try and truly understand his subjects.
Nothing recent can be found online to suggest that Lanre Fehintola ever managed to get clean and then stay clean, but he is believed to be alive as of 2017 and he would be aged 56 or 57. He has a website at lanrefehintola.co.uk with a selection of his old photos, the most recent photos are from 2012.
