Eight people, all of them white and all of them convinced that they are 100% ethnically English (or would at least like to think so), agree to take a DNA test to explore their ancestral heritage in this 2006 Channel 4 TV documentary. The DNA samples are processed in a series of advanced tests and the results analysed with some surprising results.

Some of the eight participants are shocked to find that they are much less English than they believed, finding that they are likely to have ancestors from Africa, Asia, the Middle East and beyond, possibly only as far as a few generations up their family tree. The test results were processed by the Florida based American company DNAPrint Genomic, the company seized the exist in 2009, probably due to the emergence of numerous cheaper competitors who now offer similar genetic tests to the general public.
